Details: Savor the sights and scents of antique roses in peak bloom and taste local wines in the garden. Choose the best roses for your garden while learning to accommodate natural plant cycles with Kaye Moomaw of Lynchburg’s Irvington Spring Farm during her presentation, “Old Roses for Modern Gardeners.” In her talk, Kaye will recommend old rose varieties, give tips on managing pests and diseases, and make suggestions for companion plants for roses.

In addition, Monticello’s Beekeeper Paul Legrand will discuss ways to maximize your honey harvest, and from 12-2, don’t miss the “Father of Virginia Wine,” Gabriele Rausse, as he hosts a tasting of his esteemed local wines. A wide selection of historic plants, including antique roses, will be for sale.
