Where: New-York Historical Society
170 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024
When: Saturday, November 12, 2016, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Details: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to fulfill a variety of badges and earn a Museum Patch at the New-York Historical Society! Come as a troop or with family and see what’s new at New York’s oldest museum, founded in 1804. Scout uniforms are encouraged!
Engaging, educator-led tours of our fall exhibitions begin every half hour. On tours of Holiday Express: Toys and Trains from the Jerni Collection (ideally suited for younger Scouts), discover what transportation and toys were like for people in the past.
After or before your tour, participate in a group craft activity to commemorate the brave soldiers of the American Revolution. Draw inspiration from the Purple Heart-style medal designed by George Washington and create a badge to honor the historical hero of your choosing.
Your Scout Day Ticket includes Museum Admission, which comes with access to the DiMenna Children’s History Museum and our immersive multimedia film, New York Story (suitable for grades 2 and up). The day’s activities can fulfill a number of badge requirements for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts; contact us for more information. Patches will be available for purchase at the Museum Store.
Cost: $10 (members $8)
