Join us outdoors this summer in the museum’s newest garden space this for evenings of food, drinks, and dynamic conversation. On August 10 we will explore how the historical movements of people and their culinary traditions influenced foodways in America. Focusing on how herbs and spices from around the world and across the country introduced new flavors and textures, the evening will feature a panel discussion with experts and historians and an interactive reception with:
- Custom cocktails courtesy of New Columbia Distillers
- Tours of Common Ground: Our American Garden with Smithsonian Gardens
- Interactive activities with Smithsonian Gardens
